the more I read about the more I feel like it really happened under the wrong circumstances and was set up for failure. it could have been done in such a way that it worked but it'd probably have to be in the 18th century during the Scandinavianism times because if you read about how the kalmar union came to be it's really not in a good way, basically western sweden and norway were controlled by the magnusson guys that had been kings of sweden first and later norway and denmark.
